Alcohol by Volume (ABV):

Apparent Attenuation:

Estimated Calories per 12-oz Bottle:

ABV is the standard measure of how much alcohol (ethanol) is contained in a given volume of an alcoholic beverage. For example, if your OG reading is 1.051 and your FG reading is 1.010, your AVB is 5.4%.
Equation: (OG-FG)*131.25

Attenuation is the calculated decrease in the specific gravity of the wort during fermentation as the yeast convert sugars to alcohol and CO2. For example, if you have 50% attenuation, then 50% of the sugars were converted into alcohol and CO2 by the yeast.
Equation: (OG-FG)/OG

Total Calories is a calculated approximation of calories from alcohol + calories from carbohydrates. Equations are derived from BeerSmith.com and are used to determine the amount of calories in a 12-ounce serving of beer.
